What is Sing meinen Song?

“Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert” is not just an entertainment show, but also a platform on which the meaning and power of music is celebrated in its purest form. Instead, music is understood as a universal language that connects people of all ages and backgrounds.

The innovative concept of "Sing meinen Song"

Seven German-speaking singers from different genres come together in a remote location. Each of the first seven evenings to be recorded is dedicated to one of the musicians. The other six performers each sing a cover version of one of his songs in their own style, accompanied by a band, but without an audience. Clips from the original videos will be shown before each performance for comparison.

The musicians comment on the songs, but there is no negative criticism. In addition, the performer of the evening sings his own current song and at the end of the episode chooses the song of the evening whose interpretation he liked best. In the final eighth episode, the musicians sing selected songs as a duet.

In the first four seasons, the “Song of the Evening” was released the next day as a download single. There is also a sampler for the season with the best performances from the various episodes. Since the album for the fourth season, all songs have been available on the “Deluxe Version” for the first time. In the fifth season, before the sampler was released, the songs from the programs already broadcast were made available for download and streaming from the time of broadcast.
