Maite Kelly, born on December 4, 1979 in West Berlin, is an American pop singer. pop singeractress and author. The 1.60 m tall Maite is the eleventh child of the famous Kelly Family. As the only member of the family born in Germany, she decided to settle down here. She composed her first song at the age of eleven and showed her talent at an early age. After the death of her mother Barbara-Ann in 1981, the family toured Europe and the USA for several years and only found a permanent home in the early 1990s – first on a houseboat in Cologne and later at Gymnich Castle in North Rhine-Westphalia, where the Kellys lived until the death of their father Dan Kelly.

As the singer and bassist of the Kelly Family, Maite Kelly celebrated great success with the family, including concerts in front of sold-out halls and around 20 million records sold worldwide. The album “Over The Hump” in particular was a sensational success and sold around 4.5 million copies in Europe alone in 1994. The band also won the prestigious “Bravo Otto Gold” award six years in a row from 1995 to 2000.

After a short break, during which Maite did her A-levels in the USA, she returned to the Kelly Family in 2001 and was active on tour again until 2004. In 2007, she decided to pursue a solo career. At the same time, she devoted herself to other projects: in 2009 she appeared in the musical Hairspray and in 2011 she won the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance” with Christian Polanc. She also became known to a wider audience through the consumer show “Da wird mir übel” on ZDFneo, which she hosted until 2012.

Switch to the pop scene and success on the German music market

Maite Kelly has been successful on the pop scene since 2013 and has enjoyed great success with albums such as “Wie ich bin” and “Sieben Leben für dich”. This was followed in 2016 by the pop album “Sieben Leben für dich” with self-written songs and the popular duet “Warum hast du nicht nein gesagt” with Roland Kaiser. The song achieved cult status and went gold five times for selling over 750,000 units. Her fifth studio album “Die Liebe siegt sowieso” was released in 2018 and cemented her place in the pop scene.

Whether as a juror on DSDS – Deutschland sucht den Superstaras a talk show guest on Riverboat and Kölner Treff or with impressive appearances on The Giovanni Zarrella Show and The hits of the month – Maite knows how to captivate the audience with her warm manner and her musical talent. Other projects and social commitment

In addition to her musical career, Maite Kelly is also a successful children’s book author. Together with Britta Sabbag, she wrote the children’s book series “Die kleine Hummel Bommel”, which now comprises over twenty volumes. She also proved her versatility as a juror in the 18th season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” alongside Dieter Bohlen and appeared as herself in the RTL soap “Unter uns” in 2023.

Social commitment is also important to Maite Kelly. Since 2004, she has been involved in an aid project in Togo, for which she regularly collects donations. She also supports German Cancer Aid and actively campaigns with her family for education and research in the fight against cancer. She showed another creative side in 2013 with a fashion collection for the mail-order giant Bonprix.

Private and personal matters

In her private life, Maite Kelly first found happiness with the French natural cosmetics and model Florent Michel Raimond. They married in August 2005 and have three daughters together (Agnes Theresa Barbara Raimond born in 2006, Josephine Katherine Francoise Raimond born in 2008 and * 2014). In 2017, the couple announced their separation and the marriage was later annulled.
