Instrument of the year

On the initiative of the Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council, the idea for the “Instrument of the Year” project was born in 2008 with Sabine Meyer, who took over the sponsorship of the clarinet and implemented the concept with aplomb. The project has now gained nationwide recognition and is being implemented in almost all federal states. Each country chooses its own sponsors and pursues individual approaches to put the spotlight on the diversity of the mandolin.

The internationally renowned mandolinist Avi Avital is the patron for Schleswig-Holstein, which is a special enrichment for the North. The long-standing commitment and support of the Savings Banks and Giro Association for Schleswig-Holstein have contributed significantly to the success of the project.
