Jana Ina

Jana Ina was born on December 12, 1976 in Petrópolis. She is a Brazilian presenter, pop singerdesigner and model who lives in Germany.

Career

She grew up in a German-Brazilian family with one brother. Jana Ina trained in ballet, jazz dance, samba and other Latin American dances. She also took singing lessons and sang in the Meninas Cantoras de Petrópolis choir for eleven years.

When she was 14 years old, she was discovered as a model. At the age of 15, she received a contract with the Elite modeling agency in Rio de Janeiro. After finishing school in 1994, she began studying journalism at one of the Faculdades Integradas Hélio Alonso in Rio de Janeiro. In 1997, she won the Miss Petrópolis and Miss Rio de Janeiro beauty contests. She also took part in the Miss Brasil 1997 competition and reached the semi-finals.

In 1998, she was elected Miss Intercontinental in Bad Lausick near Leipzig. She then received an offer to work in Germany. In 1999, she moved to the homeland of her great-grandparents. There she received offers for recordings, such as the song ‘Yo te quiero’. She also worked as a presenter at numerous pageants and international events, such as the Miss Intercontinental 2000 pageant.

Jana Ina changed jobs after her time as a presenter at GIGA, a program window of NBC Europe. From 2004 to 2006, she hosted the five-hour afternoon show NBC GIGA. She then worked for the Stars Channel at the independent television station and, after moving to Berlin, for the Backstage Channel. From August 2006, she presented the games of the World League eSport Bundesliga on DSF.

In August 2005 she married Giovanni Zarrella. From October of the same year, the docu-soap Just Married was broadcast once a week in the lifestyle magazine taff on ProSieben. In 2007 and 2011, she hosted the show Das Model und der Freak on ProSieben as one of the models. In 2007, a special of the docusoap We Are Family was broadcast. In August 2008, the celebrity documentary “Jana Ina & Giovanni – Wir sind schwanger” was broadcast on ProSieben. The documentary documented her pregnancy and the birth of her son.

In January 2009, Jana Ina appeared in the Sat.1 production ‘Mister Perfect – Der MännerTest’. She sat on the jury alongside Kim Fisher and Britt Hagedorn. In January 2010, another celebrity documentary entitled Jana Ina & Giovanni – Pizza, Pasta & Amore was shown on ProSieben. This documented their private life after the birth of their first child together and their search for a suitable house. The couple were also accompanied at the opening of their restaurant Settantotto in January 2010.

They were also part of the ensemble of the Holiday on Ice revue between November 2010 and March 2011. From January 2011, Jana Ina appeared as a styling expert and jury member in the third season of the eight-part docusoap Schluss mit Hotel Mama on Kabel 1. In May 2011, she took part in the Sat.1 family show Der Bastelkönig. At the beginning of June, Jana Ina and her husband also appeared on Sat.1 in a celebrity edition of Mein Mann kann. In July 2011, she and her husband hosted the casting show Sommermädchen 2011 on ProSieben.

They had a daughter in January 2013. In October 2013, Jana Ina took part in the TV Total PokerStars.de night and secured a prize of 50,000 euros in the final duel with two members of the band The BossHoss. She has been the advertising face of the women’s channel TLC since 2014. In June 2014, she worked as a reporter for the RTL magazine Punkt 12 on the occasion of the World Cup in Brazil. In June 2015, she won the styling documentary Promi Shopping Queen. In June 2016, she and her husband hosted the broadcast of the wedding celebrations of Daniela Katzenberger and Lucas Cordalis. Jana Ina was a judge in the second and third seasons of Curvy Supermodel on RTL II in 2017 and 2018.

Jana Ina appeared as a fashion expert on HSE from August 2016. She has had her own collection there since September 2019. She hosted the dating show Love Island on RTL II from September 2017 to March 2021. She has been selling slimming shakes at Shape Republic since 2020. Jana Ina Zarrella hosted the talk show #OMG from 2021 to 2022. In 2022, she published the cookbook Casa Zarrella.

Singles

Jana Ina has released several singles over the course of her career. Her best-known hits include ‘Yo Te Quiero’ from 2002 and ‘Make My Day’ from 2003. She had a special collaboration with Hape Kerkeling for the song ‘Tanze Samba mit mir’, which was also released in 2003. More recently, she also collaborated with her husband Giovanni Zarrella and released the song ‘Così sei tu (So bist Du)’ in 2019.
