Il Civetto

IL CIVETTO is a Berlin-based fusionpop-band. The band is characterized by its eclectic musical mix and has its origins in the cosmopolitan and international Berlin club scene.

Career

Il Civetto emerged from jam sessions in Berlin’s underground and suburban trains. Their success led to their first booking in 2010 and finally to the formation of the band. The band recorded their first album after playing at private parties and in well-known Berlin scene clubs such as Kater Holzig and Sisyphos. Inspired by their travels, the musicians process these impressions in their music.

Il Civetto consists of a group of friends with different musical backgrounds. The band members combine their versatility and curiosity for different musical styles. Leon Bollinger plays drums and percussion, Lars Löffler-Oppermann plays clarinet, saxophone and keys, Leon Keiditsch is the singer, Dany Ahmad plays bass and Robert Kondorosi plays guitar. guitar.

Il Civetto has its roots in their school days, when band members Leon Bollinger, Lars Löffler-Oppermann, Leon Keiditsch and former members Tristan Böttger and Leonard Schulz had already known each other since middle school. The close bond between them laid the foundation for their later musical collaboration.

The five friends began making music together, creating a unique vibe that survived the various line-up changes in the band unscathed. Bassist Dany Ahmad and guitarist Robert Kondorosi later joined the aforementioned founding members. They integrated seamlessly and helped to make Civetto even more diverse and creative.

The band has played in various cities and festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, MS Dockville and the Fusion Festival. Their debut album, which bears the same title, was financed by a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2015 and received positive reviews. This was followed by interviews, television appearances and numerous festival shows.

The band signed an indie deal with Eastblok Music in 2019 for their second album “Facing The Wall”. Between albums, they also released two EPs. Their third album “Späti del Sol”, with which they celebrated their first chart success (#41), was the highlight of their career to date in 2022. The album was the first to be written entirely in German and was released under the Seven.One Starwatch label. From September to December 2022, the band toured and appeared on various TV shows.

Il Civetto 2022 has set the stage for “Ina’s Night” in the popular late-night show by Ina Müller Hamburg’s oldest sailor’s pub “Zum Schellfischposten” in episode 173 of the 18th season.

In summer 2023, Il Civetto played at several festivals, including Puls Open Air, Pangea, Summerjam Festival, Burg Herzberg Festival and Open Flair Festival. March 2024 sees the release of the fourth album “Liebe auf Eis” and April 2024 sees the biggest tour to date through Germany and Switzerland.
