Music genres and their classification

In the world of music, there are different musical genres. “Genre” comes from the French and means “genre”. But Musikgattung sounds too German again. In any case, musical genres describe styles in order to be able to categorize the artistic forms of expression of the performers. And not just in the music scene. But also in theater, film and poetry.

There are many different genres in music. These in turn have “sub-genres”, which sometimes mix and create new sub-genres. But the most popular music genres are easy to list:

. It should also be briefly mentioned that you can become a “star” in almost any field. For example, pop star, rock star or pop star.
