Stefanie Heinzmann was born on March 10, 1989 in Visp-Eyholz and is a Swiss pop– and soul singer. Career of Stefanie Heinzmann

Stefanie graduated from the commercial school for athletes and artists at the Kollegium Brig and has been the singer in the dialect rock band BigFisch since 2005. She became a local celebrity with the band in 2006 after her song “Chumm Ins Wallis” became a kind of cantonal anthem.

In summer 2007, Heinzmann applied as a singer for the casting competition SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD, which was conceived by Stefan Raab as part of his TV total show, and was selected by the organizers as one of the 20 participants in the final shows. With her interpretations of soul and funk classics in particular, she made it through to the final of the top four. There, on January 10, 2008, she became the first Swiss woman to prevail in a German casting show in a telephone vote by viewers and won a recording contract with Universal Music. In May 2008, Stefanie Heinzmann founded Heinzmann-Productions GmbH together with her brother, who acts as her manager.

In the final of the casting show, Stefanie Heinzmann presented her song “My Man Is a Mean Man”, written by Swedish producers Gustav Jonsson, Tommy Tysper and Marcus Sepehrmanesh, for the first time. The song was released on January 11, 2008, one day after the final, together with the songs of the other finalists on an EP. Their first album “Masterplan”, produced by Marek Pompetzki and Paul NZA, was released on March 7, 2008 and went gold in Germany and double platinum in Switzerland.

In February 2008, Heinzmann performed with the group Tower of Power in Zurich’s Volkshaus and sang their song “Only So Much Oil in the Ground”. In March, she took part in the Wok World Championships in Altenberg and presented the song “Like a Bullet” as her second single. In 2009, Heinzmann continued her run of success when she sang Ain’t No Mountain High Enough with Lionel Richie at the Echo Awards and was named best female artist in the rock/pop (national) category. She was also honored at the Swiss Music Awards. She took part in the Wok World Championships in Winterberg and came fifth. In August of the same year, she went platinum in Poland for “Masterplan”.

Stefanie Heinzmann’s second studio album “Roots to Grow” was, like the first, produced by Marek Pompetzki and Paul NZA at Numarek Studios in Berlin and released in September 2009. The singles “No One (Can Ever Change My Mind)” and the double A-single “Unbreakable/Stop” were released, with “The Unforgiven” topping the Radio 1 Pop Charts in Greece in October and reaching number 2 in the Radio Airplay Charts.

In November 2009, Heinzmann met up with her idol Joss Stone for a duet recording of the song “Unbreakable” on TV total. Due to an operation on her vocal cords to remove oedema, Heinzmann had to cancel a planned tour of Switzerland, Austria and Germany at short notice. The concerts were rescheduled for April 20, 2010. She was nominated for the Swiss Music Awards for the second time in a row with “Roots to Grow” and gave her first concert in the USA with the band Tower of Power in January 2011.

In March 2012, Stefanie Heinzmann released her third studio album with the simple title “Stefanie Heinzmann”. The pre-release single “Diggin’ in the Dirt” reached number 6 in the Swiss charts in February. In addition to her own compositions, the album contains pieces by artists such as Eric Bazilian, Julie Frost, John Gordon, Jamie Cullum and Kim Sanders. Heinzmann also covered the Isley Brothers hit “This Old Heart of Mine”. Show Me the Way” was released as the second single from the album. Heinzmann has been a jury member and coach on the singing casting show “The Voice of Switzerland” since January 2013.

Her song “Diggin’ in the Dirt” can also be heard on the European version of the dance game “Just Dance 4” from Ubisoft, which was released in October 2012. Their fifth album “All We Need Is Love” was released in March 2019. The album was recorded in Hamburg, London and Sweden. With “Build a House”, it contains a song produced by Frans Zimmer(Alle Farben), which was already released as a single in 2018. The music video for the single Shadows was filmed in Saxon Switzerland.

In March 2020, Heinzmann took part in the second season of the ProSieben show The Masked Singer in the costume of a Dalmatian. She was eliminated in the first episode. In Switzerland, she took part in the first season of “Sing meinen Song – Das Schweizer Tauschkonzert” in 2020. In May 2020, she took part in the FreeESC initiated by Stefan Raab and sang the song “All We Need is Love”.

An acoustic version of the album was released in December 2020. In the eighth season of “Sing meinen Song – Das Tauschkonzert”, viewers experienced a fascinating musical journey. Together with artists such as Johannes Oerding, DJ BoBo, Gentleman, Ian Hooper, Joris and Nura, she presented her unique interpretations of well-known hits. Johannes Oerding acted as host, which lent the atmosphere a special dynamic.

Their sixth album “Labyrinth” was released in May 2021. The singles “Would You Still Love Me”, “Believe” and “Best Live” were pre-released in April 2021. The album also contains the single Colors, which was released in October 2020.

In 2024, she took part in the ProSieben program The Masked Singer. In the show, a different professional singer is named the Masked Mystery every week.
