Semino Rossi, whose real name is Omar Ernesto Semino, was born on May 29, 1962 in Rosario, Argentina. He is an Argentinian-Italian pop singerwho has made a name for himself on the German-speaking music scene thanks to his characteristic blend of romantic pop and Latin American rhythms. His artistic passion was born in his cradle. As the son of a tango singer and a pianist, he grew up in a musical home, learned to play the piano from his mother and taught himself to play the guitar.

Although his family lived in difficult financial circumstances, Rossi describes his childhood as happy and is still deeply emotionally attached to his homeland to this day. In 1985, he traveled to Europe for the first time, where he made his way as a musician – including as a street musician in Spain and later with engagements in hotels, especially in Austria, where he eventually stayed. He had to work hard for his breakthrough over many years.

It was not until 2001 that he received his first recording contract and became known to a wide audience in Germany in 2004 through a TV appearance on “Winterfest der Volksmusik” with Florian Silbereisen. In 2006, his album “Ich denk an dich” made it to number one in the charts in Germany and Austria. This was followed in 2007 by his first solo tour with a live orchestra throughout the German-speaking world. In 2008, he released the single “Rot sind die Rosen”, one of his best-known hits to date.

2013 saw the release of his Dieter Bohlen produced album “Symphonie des Lebens”, which reached number 1 in Austria and number 2 in Germany. Further successes followed, including the album “Ein Teil von mir” (2017), which also reached number one in the Austrian charts and was awarded platinum and gold was awarded platinum and gold. Subsequent releases have also regularly placed high up in the German and Austrian charts.

Musically, Rossi combines romantic ballads with danceable elements, often spiced up with Latin American lightness. He sings mainly in German, but also in Spanish, which underlines his international background. His productions are characterized by high-quality arrangements and an emotional, clear vocal delivery. Today, he is one of the best-known and most popular pop singers in the German-speaking world.

In April 2022, he temporarily withdrew from the public eye due to health problems. After a two-month break, during which several concerts had to be canceled, he returned stronger than ever. In February 2023, he made his musical comeback with the single “Vamos, amore mio, Vamos” – a powerful new beginning full of joie de vivre.
