Patrick Lindner, born in the Sendling district of Munich as the son of an insurance employee and housewife Hedwig Raab (1926-2016), began his impressive professional career as a chef. He even worked at the renowned Hotel Bayerischer Hof! His grandiose musical breakthrough came in 1986, when he came second in the Grand Prix of Folk Music with the sensational song “Der Weg ins Paradies”.

This mega-success was followed by a whole series of other absolutely rousing hits, which, like his first title, were composed by none other than Jean Frankfurter and written by the great Irma Holder. But that’s not all: Lindner was and is also regularly seen on television. He presented his own absolutely fantastic programs such as “Patrick Lindner persönlich”, “So ein Tag mit guten Freunden” and the “Patrick Lindner Show” on ZDF. But that’s not all: he has also made guest appearances in well-known TV series such as SOKO 5113 and Das Traumschiff.

In 1997, Lindner took a sensational stylistic turn away from folk hits towards more modern, rousing pop melodies with the album “Himmelweit”. A direction to which he remained true over several albums and which delighted his fans worldwide! In 1999, Lindner and his partner at the time adopted an eight-month-old Russian orphan – a truly magnificent and moving event!

This adoption also attracted a lot of media attention, as Lindner was already openly homosexual at the time, making him an absolute exception in the industry. He has been in a relationship with his partner, manager Peter Schäfer, for many years and the couple got married in Munich in 2020 – an absolutely romantic and wonderful wedding! In 1999, he took part in the German preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest with the fantastic song “Ein bisschen Sonne, ein bisschen Regen” and took a sensational sixth place.

But that’s not all! He also continued to appear on TV, for example with a guest role in the RTL justice series “Hinter Gittern” in 2005 and as a social worker in an episode of the series “In aller Freundschaft” in 2002. In the same year, he released the rousing swing album “Gigolo” together with the Thilo Wolf Big Band. But that’s not all: Lindner was also able to demonstrate his skills on the cooking show “In Teufels Küche” and even won the title in 2005.

In 2008, Lindner played the leading role of chef Patrick in the TV film “Das Musikhotel am Wolfgangsee”, which can be seen as a symbolic return to his beginnings as a chef. The film was broadcast in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As a pop singer, he continues to tour regularly throughout the German-speaking world, delighting audiences at his performances.

In 2012, he took part in the fifth season of the dance show Let’s Dance, where he came sixth with his dance partner Isabel Edvardsson. In 2014, he celebrated a comeback in the German album charts with his anniversary album “Nur” mit deiner Liebe. In February 2023, Lindner released the single (All) Deine Farben, which spent three weeks at number one in the German Conservative Pop airplay charts.
