Career

At the age of six, Brejcha suffered severe burns as a spectator at the Ramstein air disaster (1988), from which he still bears scars today. He reported that he was teased at school because of these scars and had few friends. As a result, he spent a lot of time alone and discovered his passion for music at an early age. Brejcha has been playing drums and keyboards since he was a child and was a drummer in a band for six months as a schoolboy.

A short time later, a classmate brought him a CD of the Dutch hardcore techno event Thunderdome, which was Brejcha’s first experience with this genre. At the age of twelve, he began producing electronic music himself as a hobby, albeit mainly trance at first.

Due to his new hobby, Brejcha dropped out of school and completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent. He then worked part-time at Telekom Deutschland for a while, which gave him more time for his music.

In 2006, he started his career as a tech house producer on the Autist Records label with the two singles Monster and Yellow Kitchen. In the same year, he also made his first appearance as a DJ at the Universo Paralello Festival in Brazil. A year later, after releasing several more tracks, he was named “Exceptional Talent 2007” by Raveline magazine, which marked his breakthrough in the electro scene.

After several years of successful collaboration with the Harthouse label, Brejcha founded his own music label Fckng Serious in 2015. He is joined on the label by musicians Deniz Bul, Ann Clue, Moritz Hofbauer and the duo Theydream.

After Brejcha’s music enjoyed great popularity in South America in particular, a performance in front of Fontainebleau Castle in France in 2017 ensured that he also became well known in Europe. A recording of the event published by the music platform Cercle reached more than 54 million clicks online (as of February 2024).

Further performances followed, the concert recordings of which were released by Cercle: 2019 at the Grand Palais in Paris and 2022 at the amphitheater in Nîmes. In July 2019, Brejcha released the track Gravity (feat. Laura Korinth) on Ultra Music. The recording of the Tomorrowland Festival 2018 reaches more than 100 million clicks (as of February 2024)
