Faber<\/strong>, whose real name is Julian Vincenzo Pollina, was born in Zurich on April 18, 1993. Since his debut, the Swiss singer-songwriter has established himself as a permanent fixture on the German-speaking music scene. Early years and rise<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Faber released his first EP “Alles Gute” in May 2015 on the Two Gentlemen label. The project was financed via crowdfunding and met with a positive response throughout the German-speaking world. His live performances in particular attracted attention and quickly built up a loyal fan base. His music, which is often accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, is characterized by vivid lyrics that deal with topics such as freedom, self-doubt and failure. <\/p>\n\n

Influence and style<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Faber’s style is characterized by a mixture of melancholy and ironic distance. He manages to pick up on current social and political issues without coming across as preachy. One example of this is the song “Wer Nicht Schwimmen Kann Der Taucht”, which personifies the supporters of right-wing populist parties in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. <\/p>\n\n

Live performances and band<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

His live performances are known for their intensity and spontaneity. Faber often performs with a band that includes musicians such as Tillmann Ostendarp (trombone, drums), Goran Koc (piano, organ), Max K\u00e4mmerling (electric guitar, darbuka, bouzouki, saxophone) and Janos Mijnssen (electric bass, cello). This combination of instruments and the dynamic performance make his concerts a special experience. <\/p>\n\n

Discography and development<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Following his second EP “Abstinenz” in summer 2016 and numerous festival appearances, Faber released the album “I Fucking Love My Life” at the end of 2019. The album was celebrated by audiences and the press alike. However, the subsequent tour had to be canceled prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, Faber worked on new projects, including the album “Ich Liebe Dich” with Sophie Hunger and Dino Brandao. <\/p>\n\n

In August 2022, Faber released his first live album “Orpheum”, which contains a recording of a concert in Graz. During this time, he moved to Vienna and spoke positively about this move. He makes his acting debut at the Hof Film Festival in the film “Der Junge Dem Die Welt Geh\u00f6rt”. His new album “Addio”, which was announced in the fall of 2023 but not released until June 2024, shows a stylistic evolution towards electronic rhythms and Arabic-style sounds. <\/p>\n\n
