Marie Wegener<\/strong>, born on July 6, 2001 in Duisburg, stage name Marie Lane<\/strong>, is a German singer. She won the casting show in 2018 \n \n “DSDS – Germany is looking for the superstar”<\/a>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Lane lives with her parents and twin brother in Duisburg. In 2013, she took part in the first season of \n \n “The Voice Kids”<\/a>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong> and was eliminated in the battle round against the eventual winner Mich\u00e8le Bircher.<\/p>\n\n

Marie Lane’s DSDS breakthrough<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

In May 2018, she won the 15th season of the casting show “DSDS – Deutschland sucht den Superstar”<\/strong> with 64 percent<\/strong> of viewer votes. As the youngest winner to date, the then 16-year-old received a recording contract and 100,000 euros. Their winning song “K\u00f6niglich”<\/strong> was penned by \n \n Dieter Bohlen<\/a>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong>. Her first album “K\u00f6niglich” was released in June 2018. On it are songs with \n \n Sarah Engels<\/a>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong> and \n \n Pietro Lombardi<\/a>\n <\/span>\n<\/strong>. The album climbed to number 7 in the German charts.<\/p>\n\n

Nach ihrem Sieg und mit einem Plattenvertrag in der Tasche machte Marie Wegener erst einmal ihr Abitur. Nebenbei trat die Sch\u00fclerin in den gro\u00dfen TV-Unterhaltungsshows von Florian Silbereisen<\/a><\/span><\/strong> auf und war im Juni und Juli 2019 Support Act f\u00fcr Andreas Gabalier<\/a><\/span> auf seiner Stadiontour durch Deutschland. Ebenfalls 2019 erschien ihr zweites Album “Countdown”, das auf Platz 20 in die deutschen Charts einstieg.<\/p>\n\n

From December 2019 to the beginning of February 2020, she toured Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the leading role of Bella in Martin Doepke’s musical “Beauty and the Beast”.<\/p>\n\n

When the coronavirus pandemic began, Marie Wegener, like many of her colleagues, fell silent. She took advantage of the time off from performing and began studying music. At the same time, she began training in dance, singing and business in Berlin. Marie is also working on a new album that will be more modern and, above all, danceable. So Marie Lane puts her own music first: “The stage and my fans give me the most strength,” she wrote in an Instagram post at the beginning of the year and announced: ‘Together we’ll make it a super 2023!<\/p>\n\n

From 2022, Marie Wegener will regularly sing the national anthem for the American football team Rhein Fire in the European League of Football. The team plays its home games in Wegener’s home town of Duisburg in the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena.<\/p>\n\n

On August 12, 2023, she will finally be a guest of Florian Silbereisen<\/strong> again and perform on stage at the big Schlager beach party<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
