Seiler und Speer<\/strong> is an Austrian band that has consisted of cabaret artist and actor Christopher Seiler and filmmaker Bernhard Speer since 2014.<\/p>\n\n

History of the band Seiler und Speer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The collaboration between the two artists began in 2014 when Christopher Seiler launched the Schichtwechsel series. Bernhard Speer was already working here as a producer and director. Christopher Seiler was performing his first cabaret shows at the time and wanted to accompany them with music. <\/p>\n\n

The true-to-life lyrics caricature various everyday situations in a humorous way. On October 3, 2015, they performed at the Voices for Refugees solidarity concert for asylum seekers in front of around 100,000 people at Heldenplatz in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n

The single Ham kummst<\/em> stayed at number 1 in the \u00d63 Austria Top 40 for five weeks and entered the German charts in 2016.<\/p>\n\n

They were nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2016 in the categories Band of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Live Act of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and in the genre category Pop<\/a><\/span><\/strong> \/ Rock<\/a><\/span><\/strong> genre category. They were awarded Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year. <\/p>\n\n

On April 7, 2017, the second studio album “Und weida?” was released, which went gold in Austria just three days later and stayed at number 1 on the \u00d63 Austria Top 40 for two weeks. On September 16, 2017, Seiler und Speer ended their Austrian tour in Ried im Innkreis. <\/p>\n\n

On the night of October 11, 2017, Bernhard Speer, who was drunk, crashed his VW bus into a pillar of an overhead signpost near Kottingbrunn. Speer, whose life was initially in danger, was taken to the Wiener Neustadt Regional Hospital at around one o’clock in the morning with serious injuries He and his management announced on Facebook on October 20, 2017 that, according to the doctors treating him, he would be able to make a full recovery, “even if it may take a while yet.” The German tour planned for November and December 2017 had to be canceled. From April 7, 2018, Seiler and Speer were back on stage together in Austria and Germany, including at the Nova Rock Festival in June 2018. <\/p>\n\n

On April 1, 2019, the single Herr Inspektor was released, which is also included on the third studio album F\u00fcr immer, released on July 26, 2019. At the 2019 Amadeus Awards, they were honored in the Pop \/ Rock category. <\/p>\n\n

In February 2022, they performed together with the Max Steiner Orchestra under the direction of Christian Kolonovits as well as violinist Lidia Baich and singer Juliette Khalil for the Red Bull Symphonic Seiler & Speer project at the Vienna Konzerthaus. The concert was broadcast on ServusTV and a recording was released by Preiser Records. <\/p>\n\n

Since 2021, Speer has released his first solo projects as Herr Speer with the singles “Weg vo do” and “Irgendwaun”. Since 2023, Seiler has been part of the supergroup AUT of ORDA with Paul Pizzera and Daniel Fellner. Bernhard Speer has hosted the late night show Monte Grillo Club on Joyn since mid-2023. <\/p>\n\n
