It reached gold status six weeks after its release and platinum status after nine weeks, making it one of the fastest-selling debut albums in the German music industry; the compositions were written by Hardy Kayser and Matthias Haß. Her first single “Das Gefühl” was released at the end of October 2004 and reached number 34 in the charts.

The second single release “Das Spiel” followed at the beginning of November 2004, which climbed to number 5 in the German singles charts and marked Louisan’s breakthrough. In spring 2005, Louisan toured 25 cities in Germany with the tracks from the album and sold out concerts in Frankfurt (Alte Oper), Hamburg (Musikhalle), Munich (Circus Krone) and Berlin (three times at the Schillertheater), among others. During this time, she has received several awards, including the ECHO Pop in the category “Artist of the Year National Rock/Pop” and the Golden Tuning Fork as “Most Successful Soloist Pop”.

In October 2005, her second album “Unausgesprochen” was finally released, which musically moved away from pop and concentrated more on the German-French chanson tradition. Louisan used musette waltzes, tango and bossa nova rhythms. The album stayed in the German charts for over 50 weeks. A major tour followed in spring 2006 with many sold-out concerts. Another 30 sold-out concerts followed in the fall of the same year.

In 2007, Louisan sang the title song “Der kleine Unterschied” for the German comedy film “Warum Männer nicht zuhören und Frauen schlecht einparken”. The song, like the entire soundtrack for the film, was composed by James Last and appeared on Annett Louisan’s third album “Das optimale Leben”, which reached number 2 for the first time and was awarded platinum. Annett appeared in 2007 (episode 2) as a guest on <g id="gid_0"><g id="gid_1"><g id="gid_2">“Inas Nacht”</g></g></g> on stage. Like the previous third album, the album reached number 2 and stayed in the charts for 31 weeks. The subsequent tour included 50 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

From 2010 to 2016, Louisan dubbed the Belgian actress Marie Gillain for the German-French animated series “The Little Prince”.
