Calum Scott<\/strong>, born on October 12, 1988 in the English city of Kingston upon Hull, is a British pop singer. pop singer<\/a><\/span><\/strong>who became famous through his participation in the casting show Britain’s Got Talent<\/em> in 2015.<\/p>\n\n

Scott grew up in his native city of Hull in the north-east of England. His sister, who is a singer herself, encouraged him to seriously consider singing. In 2013, she entered him in the local newspaper Hull Daily Mail<\/g> ‘s Star Search<\/g> talent competition, which he promptly won. This paved his way into the music scene: he initially joined a pop band called Maroon 4<\/g>, which was stylistically based on Maroon 5. At the same time, he founded the duo Experiment<\/g> with a partner and released the single Girl (You’re Beautiful)<\/g> in 2014. <\/p>\n\n

A year later, Scott applied for the casting show Britain’s Got Talent<\/em> together with his sister. While Jade Scott was eliminated in the preliminary round, Calum impressed the judges with his emotional rendition of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own<\/g>, especially Simon Cowell, who voted him straight through to the semi-finals. Although he clearly won the semi-final, he only achieved sixth place in the final after a weaker performance. <\/p>\n\n

After the show, Scott decided to give up his office job at the town hall and focus entirely on music. In spring 2016, he released his version of Dancing on My Own<\/g> as a single. The song was used in the seventh season of the TV series The Vampire Diaries<\/g> and became an international success. While it initially only just reached the top 40 of the UK charts, it rose to number 2 in August of the same year and was certified platinum for sales of over 600,000 units. <\/p>\n\n

The song also became an international hit, reaching the top 5 in Australia and Sweden, among others, and also made it into the charts in German-speaking countries towards the end of the year. Both the music video and the recording of his performance on Britain’s Got Talent<\/g> reached hundreds of millions of views on YouTube. <\/p>\n\n

On June 28, 2019, Calum Scott released in collaboration with the German DJ Felix Jaehn<\/a><\/span><\/strong> released the single Love on Myself<\/em>. The song focuses on self-love and acceptance and, after an initial lull, finally made it into the German singles charts, where it became Scott’s second hit after Dancing on My Own<\/g>. <\/p>\n\n

Another successful collaboration followed in 2021, this time with Lost Frequencies for the song Where Are You Now<\/em>, which further cemented Scott’s international popularity. On February 25, 2022, he released another single with Felix Jaehn, this time together with the DJ duo The Stickmen Project<\/g>. The song Rain in Ibiza<\/g> is about getting to know another person and, like Love on Myself<\/g>, made it into the German singles charts. <\/p>\n\n

Since his beginnings, Calum Scott has established himself as a versatile artist who reaches a wide audience worldwide with emotional performances and catchy melodies.<\/p>\n\n
